Another audio question?

Hey guys,
I know there are alot of questions about the audio systems in our beautiful cars, and hate to add another one, but after lots of searching i could not find any help. Basically i have an 03 LS V6, and im pretty sure i don't have the alpine or THX audio systems. My question is, what are the speakers that would be in my car if i have the premium audio system and what would be some possible upgrades without changing the stock receiver as i love how it matches the car.

THX are the nav system, your premium (in dash 6 disc cd) or the single cd with cassette are both made by Alpine.

Huh, thanks for that lil bit of info, didnt know that part. Good to know. So i looked under the back today of the rear cabin and noticed there are no speakers, just empty holes. What speakers do you guys have in there and what would be a good way to get some speakers in there?

2 power sub's OEM, try EBay.

Thanks for the info, i tried searching on ebay for oem subs for the ls, but came up with 0 results. Do you happen to have a lil more info on these speakers? Sorry

Leave out those "subs" - which are just crappy 6x9's - and wire up a sub in the trunk instead

You can do it with RCA converters or something. I've never done it, but plenty of members on here have.

May just have to go that route. One more question i have is if i just have the standard head unit, can i buy the same year navigation unit and install it with ease or will i have to rewire alot?

it's much less expensive and MUCH easier to go aftermarket with Navigation units. Plus, you can play movies with an aftermarket head unit

Agreed! Check out my photo gallery. I started from the same setup (04 v6 base here) and put in the following:
Alpine IVA-W200 (double din DVD, full speed Ipod control, but no navigation),
Alpine 6.5" type R speakers in all 4 doors,
Alpine type R 12" sub
Alpine amp 75x4 rms
Alpine v12 amp 300x1 rms
Fosgate 1.0 farad cap

If I had it to do again I would put components in the front doors.
