Since bball pools have been all the rage for the last month, I think we should start one for my LS. I drove down to a convenience store this morning to get coffee. Talked to a couple friends that came in. Went back out to leave, and the thing wouldn't start (wouldn't even click, although all the other electrical seemed fine). Checked the fuses and relays, front and back. Checked the battery. Nothin. So, any ideas? I'm thinking maybe a starter motor wire or a solenoid, something along those lines. Any guesses as to what's wrong should be accompanied by a #, i.e., #1, #2, #3. After the dealership diagnosis the problem, we'll announce the winners #! Hopefully, this isn't going to be anything too bad or expensive...(for my sake):D :D . Just another joyful day in the life of an LS owner:p :p . Sheeeesh! I just polished and waxed it on Saturday, too. At least it should be the best looking car in the service dept!

Gay, just let us know what was wrong with it and how much they ass-raped you on price

/thread.

OK here's a dumb guess why it didn't start:
#1 It was the wrong car :p

Jayce, mine does this from time to time. It periodically doesnt start with my key. battery and all is fine, just nothing happens when I turn the key. So I use my automatic start, and everything is fine again. I have no idea what the deal is, and it only happens like once or twice a month. Wish I had some more info for you because I wish I knew what the deal was too.

#4, the key. Either damaged or more than likely has gone bad. I was reading about this just the other day happening to some people.

Jwerner......you Dan Man!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Took 3 min. to diagnose. There is a crack running through the key, which has been there since I got the car... Are you related to God, or did you just call the dealership!:D :D :D This one was actually free, folks, as was the tow...Thanks to my guitar players dad, Jim at the local towing company. And I'm sure you were smart enough to pick Kansas to sweep the tourney, too! I'm only a Jayhawk fan 1 month a year!

Nope, actually just the Devil.:D

It was a nightmare figuring it out wasn't it?:gr_devil:

Dealership isn't really sure...

They say, "It could be the key." They also say, "It could be the ignition switch, itself." One thing is sure, though, the other key did start the car, after a momentary hesitation and on the third try. Almost seemed like it just barely caught it as I was releasing the key from the clockwise position. I then tried the cracked key, which also started, after a momentary hesitation. Since then, it has fired up like usual, instantly, when turned clockwise. I figure that I better not risk getting stranded somewhere out of town, and should probably have the ignition switch replaced. This dealer doesn't do ignition switches, and referred me to the local locksmith. But anyway, she's back home.:D I'm really surprised, as I was betting on a loose wire, solenoid, something along these lines. The key and switch had never really occurred to me. Empiresix, that might be an option, but I don't have remote start. Maybe I could get the ignition schematic, and wire in a "clapper". "Clap on, LS"!
