Wish my LS well because she is going to the hospital for surgery (getting the coils replaced). I hope for a speedy recovery. :D

Edit: Not just coils but VCG, plugs and a few more things.

You can't do them yourself?

Took me less than 20 mins to replace all 8.

including cleaning the coil wells, applying the dielectric and swapping the VCG's? damn youre fast :D

Ok I lied, more like 25 minutes.

And no that wasn't including the VCG's, don't even get me started, that took most of my Saturday lol.

;)
i wonder what a fair mechanic charges for the entire job - think more than 3 hours labor?

The "hospital" is charging me $200 and I have the coils already and they are changing brakes plus doing all my 100k mile maintenance. They are replacing the gaskets and all.

that's actually pretty good im paying $150 for my new rotors & pads installed tomorrow. i'm not very mechanically inclined either so don't feel bad. the LS can be a frustrating car to work on.

Wow $200 is a good deal, hope the shop knows what they're getting into lol.

They deal with a lot of LS'. I felt real comfortable after I called the owner (a good friend of mine) and told him the code I got from Autozone and he said "O that's nothing . All we have to do is replace the coils, put new VCG, check for leaks and a few other things he rattled off." I can't wait. i have been burning through a take of gas in a week and I only commute about 8 miles both ways per day plus a trip to Chicago (about 40 minutes away) every Sunday.

Well. My car had a successful recovery and it is driving better than when I first bought it.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

Good to hear, after doing the same to my car it felt brand new, enjoy it (til the next coil pack fails lol).
