need one of these gears to adjust my speedo. where should i go? supercoupe has a nice number - steeda wants 15.95, supercoupe 18.95 - they'll match prices though which is cool.

The gear for the 4:10's is the 21 tooth DOOZ-17271-B. Is this the one I sold you K9?? And that gets you close. right. they are now priced at 2.00 retail and cost lvc 1.50 plus frt.

That's not the correct gear for 4.10s. You need a 23 tooth, which is a Jeep part.

Your best bet would be to run a speed-cal instead of those flimsy speedo gears.

m maker you are correct. Like you say the 23 tooth is a very flimsy gear and wears quickly. And they are about 13.00 each. The best way is the speed cal but you will not get one of those for 6.00!! and ford racing dont have them anymore.

yea but steeda does? im lost what you guys are talking about though....

steeda lists 392-STE-17271-J
Automatic 8-Tooth 4.10 Ratio / Black 23 Speedo Gear

it says to use this for cars between 90 - 98 - im assuming we have 8 tooth or is it 7 tooth?

max 6 bucks shipped, i need one asap

you do not want a 23 tooth, the extra teeth make it so weak it will disinegrate quckly,,or so i have heard, you will have to replace these often,

a 17 tooth and a 23 tooth are exactly the same size so with every additional tooth the gear gets weaker, over 20-21 it really gets flimsy.

I bought the one from max last year and it is a 21 tooth, it corrects for 3.73 but is only between 4-7 mph over what is right and last allot longer then a 23 tooth.

The way I drive I'm surprised that I don't destroy this one too. Plus you cant beat 3 bucks and there easy to do, just lift the drivers side and use a 10 mil to get the sensor out witch is on the tail shaft of the transmission housing. 10 –15 minutes tops.

whats the part number, is this a jeep part for 3 bucks??? is this something i can go buy from a parts store or dealer?

i have a gen 1? can you get 3.73 speedo corrector gears from the dealer? didnt the explorer v8 come with these gears?

SC Auto 21 Purple D0OZ-17271-B

anyone run these with 4.10? ide love to go the dealer if its only off 4-7mph....

With a gen 2 an SCT can fix the speedo, where on a gen 1 it can't, really an obd1 vs obd 2 thing.

i have a gen 1 with 4.10's installed where can i get the corrector gear for this, i read that you can get the 3.73 from the the dealer and there not as flimsly at the 23 tooth gear that ive read that breaks a lot.

i would like the dealer part number, or confirmation on what i posted if thats right.

i did the math on the t-bird site that has a calculator and it calculates that i need 21.8 tooth, so ill just be a bit off based on my tire choice. so im going to throw in the 21 tooth

which would be stock on a explorer xlt from the mid 90's right?
