Engine block heater

There will be a plug with a spring loaded cover (black) in your lower grille. Driver's side I believe. If you do, hopefully you have the extension cord in your spare tire well. That cord is like 90 bucks from the stealership.

So I assume you have to plug the engine block heater in for it to do its job?

I don't think my LS was equipped with one, I looked on the lower driver's side grille and I didn't see anything. However, when I opened my hood and looked towards the middle a little to the left I saw a black plastic thing that looked like some type of sensor so I don't know if thats it or not. I don't have said cord either in my trunk. Oh well.

Can anyone provide pictures of the unit, that would help.

You live in Texas why do you want one? lol.

That sensor you saw, was it right behind where the grille would be when the hood is closed? If so, that's the outside temperature sensor that displays on the climate control.

Here's a picture of the plug in the grille, circled in green:

Thanks a lot! Yep, I don't have one, mine just has a little hole there, looks likes some sort of mounting bracket for it. That sucks.

I'm assuming he wouldn't have asked the question if it didn't...
