 Hey guys, it may all just be in my head but it seems my car has gotten slower off the line and at slower speeds. I've deleted all 3 air silencers and fiberglassed the holes closer to the throttle body, 1-2 accumulator upgrade w/ mercon V, removed 3rd cat and resonator, removed mufflers and replaced with glasspacks. Would any of that kill me on the lower end? Maybe things will change when install my 4.10s.

you have pretty much what i have done, but i have the 4.10's in cept i have a chip and a conical air filter. 4.10s make the lower end great, the only thing i do say is my first gear is a little sluggish, and it starts to hesitate up top, meaning at top speeds. i just replaced my fuel filter - and it seems to run a bit bit better down low but the big thing your going to need is a Fuel Pump no doubt about.

mine got slower off the line as well - its fast with the 4.10s but i believe my engine isnt putting out the hp it should be because its not getting the proper fuel pressure. but i have yet to check that, im going to do this probably tonight by hooking a Fuel Pressure guage up to the Schrader Valve on the passenger side top corner in the engine bay, it has a black cap about the size of a dime. hook the guage up to that turn the car on, and you can check the fuel pressure.

the one thing i dont get is that if my fuel pump is going, wouldn't it throw a check engine light? or wouldnt the computer say something?

Will a conical k&n filter connect to the MAF sensor? If you remove the air box and connect a cone filter, what will hold it up and keep it from slouching down?

you get an adpater plate. you use the screws and nuts from the airbox to connect them.

The mod motors in general have a terrible low end, especially the 4v. Why do you think they added the IMRC system to the Mark?

no but i hear him, i used to punch it and it would spin my tires like crazy, then it went to not even chirping...

It's the Intake Manifold Runner Control system. It leave half the intake ports closed and then opens them up at around 3800 rpm's or so.

any auto parts store.... i dont exactly remember which one it is, but i think it goes by inches, the store that ordered mine ordered two that they thought might work. i think one was for an f -150 and one was for a mustang? i forget which one i used...

Is the bracket L-shaped? Does the filter fit straight onto the MAF sensor like it goes on mustang? Also does the bracket I need to buy bolt on the MAF sensor? Sorry for so many questions. I just like to have a few answers so I can just get the job done without alot of guessing what will work. What about the ice box from lincolnmotorsports? I can use that instead of getting a bracket right?

If they are stuck open you will loose low end torque. You have to take the intake manifold off and inspect them. That is the only way I know how to see if they are open. Maybe if you did a seafoam treatment in the intake that might clean things up in there.

how common of a problem is this, and how much tq are we talking about here?
