if you guys have ever heard of A and A autoparts, theyll match anything on summit plus shipping costs. i got the walboro 255, next day by 2:30 when I called at 7, i didn't even have to prepay. pretty cool.

i would be doing this tomorrow but its supposed to rain and i dont have a garage. Almost all the fuel pump articles ive seen have been for gen 2. Do i have to splice wires for this walboro unit? all i have read with the walboro and gen 1 is that it "drops right in".

also ive read some argument whether its neccessary to drop the exhaust. any comment son the gen 1 (non lsc)

Pump should "plug and play".
The kit includes a new pigtail electrical connection for the pump.
you can choose to splice in the new pigtail or not, that is up to you.
"I" did replace my pigtail.

As for the "dropping the exhaust" argument.
If you get under the car, please tell me how you can drop the gas tank when the exhaust is there.

Believe me, I've done this job 3 times... the exhaust definatly had to be dropped.. otherwise you'll never get the tank low enough, or you will damage the exhaust trying to do so.

If you slide under the car, it should be blatantly obvious that the exhaust the goes directly UNDER the tank is going to be in the way.

It ALMOST 100% fits...

The bottom of the fuel pump "hanger" will need a slight modifcation for the larger pump inlet to fit.

The pump sits in what looks like two fingers holding the pump from the bottom.. I just removed ONE of the two fingers, leaving the other one to hold the pump in place.. then tightened the clamp.

This sounds confusing, but once you get it apart and try to put the walboro into the stock pump hanger, you'll see it doesnt fit... so just remove one of the two fingers and it'll fit perfectly.

Hope this helps

yea thats what i figured about the exhaust! does the walboro 255 give you any performance right away... or is it one of things that is needed before you can do a few mods?

If you have a weak pump right now, then the walboro WILL give you a performance increase... whether you will be able to "feel the difference" greatly depends on the current condition of your existing fuel pump.

Mostly the 255 upgrade is a "supporting" modification that will support future performance additions such as Nitrous or Supercharging.

The pump will only put as much pressure as your stock regulator will allow...which means after 40PSI any additional fuel volume or pressure will just be "returned the the gas tank".

Will you have a noticeable "seat of the pants" improvement, likely no

well i figure regardless if my fuel pump is good condition or not, its a good replacement. i realized my fuel filter hasnt been replaced in 50K or so, so im assuming my issues could have been that. But for what im planning to do i def need the pump though.

wheres a good place to get a FPR? im planning to run a 100hp dry shot.

cant help you there, I had no luck with adjustable FPR.
I wont suggest them to anyone.

you crank the pressure up, the pcm sees the rich condition and decreases the pulsewidth effectively removing any additional fuel...it can cause all kinds of driveability issues.

Stick with stock fuel pressure and follow the guidelines from your nitrous vendor. Usually the cheaper kits have a fitting that connects to your FPR and uses nitrous pressure to increase your fuel pressure.
