i know i had previously started a thread about this but as i have neglected to clean it for so long i want to know if it still can be cleaned? i saw the video on the other thread but it's w/ the squared ones and want to know if it's the same process? can anyone chime in and tell me specifically how they did it? like, after i rinse it out how long do i have to wait to put the oil on it and how much oil to use and where? don't mean to be a spazz but i want to do it properly. btw it's been over a year since i got it, never cleaned

don't be too concerned. Of course you can still clean it. Just go about it as you would otherwise.

Let the filter dry... totally after cleaning. (overnight on a weekend is a good bet) Use just enough oil that the color will disperse after 20-30 minutes to cover the entire element. Your best bet is to keep lightly applying and waiting until you get your full coverage. Eventually you'll learn about how much is the right amount and it won't take the experimenting everytime.

K&N only advises cleaning once a year under normal conditions (same basic filter design)... and unless you live on a dirt road or take your LS bogging... you should be okay.

No prob

Just be sure not to over oil it... the oil will get pulled up your intake stream and mess up your MAF sensor.

Tru dat!~

I let mine dry in the sun for at least 6-7 hours, if not sunny then on top of a heat register in the house - the wife really likes that, and confuses the dog.

I then spray just enough till its pink, if it turns white in a few spots after a few minutes then I reapply a bit.

After you spray it, let it sit for a few hours, the dab it with a paper towel.

do you oil the inside of the air filter? i have the kkm one and i'm not sure if i spray inside the cone as well

2 more questions guys, and i know i'm really anal. i have the aerosol spray, in the video it had the square filter that was being oiled with a squeeze bottle. do i just spray randomly or is there a technique to get everything. and finally, how long do i wait after i have oiled it to be able to use my car

Read the can man...its not hard, but honestly, there is no trick or secret way to spray the filter.
