finally went ahead and bought it.. got the 57 Series FIPK.. non metal one on lsk.. found a really good deal on it.. 218.00 shipped.. let me know if you want the link. i wont post it in here just because.... hope it sounds hot! anyone else got this one? also can anyone tell me the diff between a fipk... aircharger...... and the typhoon?
 
lol.. someone finally caught it.... ive been telling people this for years... kinda pvt joke between me and a few buddies of mine.
 
Are you guys just screwing around or what am I missing? I have been thinking about getting the typoon, which I can get at the same 218 price, but am wondering why no one has answered the question?

i got that same intake. ur gonna love it feeels a bit quicker and u hear the rumble from the engine. sounds great
 
it doesnt sound like...... trashy does it? not too loud..... an ls should never be TOO loud lest youre making it loud..... sound like a stang or bmw? compare it to something stock>?
 
you can actually hear the engine accelerate; it's not loud at all...

I have both the FIPK and Typhoon intake systems for my LS. Personally the Typhoon sounds a bit more aggressive probably due to it being metal. The 57 series muffles the intake growl a bit more.

They made the 57 series FIPK more expensive and try to make it more appealing because it is CARB certified. They had to spend thousands of dollars to get that certification and they have to get that money back on the sale of the product. If people asked which is better, neither, its all a aesthetic preference.

I also like how K&N claims the FIPK to gain like 1HP more than the Typhoon. With either system in the car you can not tell the difference from one to the other.

The Aircharger you are asking about I think is just the intake system itself is nicknamed that.
 
thanks for the info 02v.. i think the black one looks better and doesnt hold heat as much.. they both do the exact same thing tho.. plus... i dont want it LOUD... just a little growlier. think i went with the right choice.

edit: is that your typhoon on ebay with a starting price of 150?
 
It's not loud, you wont be disappointed. I can't comment on the exact difference as I had Flowmaster 40s on mine before I did the intake, but it's still not loud, well... not too loud - I guess I still get looks on the street when accelerating, but thats what I was going for :D
 
prob sounds like an audi with a cai.. eh? i was gonna say 5 series but.. i know it doesnt. maybe an a8 although the a8 prob has waay more l than the ls..... what the hell.. who makes 8's with such a small amount of displacement? ford? i think thats it..
 
More like a stock 05+ mustang from the inside with the windows down. I've yet to really hear it from the outside driving. I'll see what I can do to get a recording, not that they do any exhaust justice.

Nice thing is, it's a lincoln, roll the windows up, and all that noise goes away.

Yes it is, the $150 is a MAX price. Im asking $150 or best offers. $150 takes it home now, anything less is an offer Ill consider depending on how low it is.
