Front License Plate Holder...

Howdy... mines about to fall off... I got a 97' mark Viii... do you guys have any nifty ways of puttin it back on... the bracket's still intact but it's just barely holding on... or is there an after market one you can get?... I wish I could just take it off and plug the holes but laws suck like that!
 
Go to your favorite FLM bodyshop, and ask them to put it back on. It takes a special size poprivet and tool.
 
like a week ago :D i just reliezed my profile and sig pic had it on there lol
 
Kinda have to have it on since the laws require one on the front and I can't stand having it up in the window... any other ideas?.... I called a local lincoln dealership and they said if I brought it buy they'd put it on for free so I'm thinkin of just rippin it off... epoxy it smooth again, sand it, paint it and take it to them to put it back on... maybe reinforce the plastic some how... got any other ideas?...
 
I seriously doubt a cops gunna pull you over cuz it fell off... ive never even heard of that! If a cop pulls me over to complain abt a front licence plate holder, hes getting slapped. I might get shot tho. But he would deserve it
 
$hit Ive gotten tickets for no front plate. and everyone knows that the man is after me enough, ugly front plate and all
 
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Thats crazy! U must have crap for luck with cops. I saw those pics in your thunderbird post. I feel for you. I got a ticket once cuz my "friend" threw a redbull can from my window. The liter patrol lady got me. After 40 hours of community service she told me how much she likes my rose mist lincoln. Jerk.
 
Yeah Epoxy and JB weld... half the farmers back home owe they're life to them :)... and yeah I've had to friends get pulled over here for not having a plate in front... one was in a honda and didn't have a plate holder... he had to go ninja rig one... it was from California or something someplace they don't have to have them... it does look a lot nicer without them though... sux that the laws have to make our cars just a bit uglier :(

Yeah, you must not have a state law that requires it. They are bitches about that front plate around here too.

go look in the midwest chapter for my first boscobel beach party thread (it was 2 years ago, so its back there somewhere) and theres a pic of me getting a parking ticket, thanks to debi :D

as for the plate bracket, ive seen everything, just bolt it on
 
I took mine off during last paint job and filled the holes. Made a slot underneath and cut the bottom of the plate off and bent the top to slide in, so it's detachable depending what state I'm in. (dual residency) .. texas doesn't give a f cause i have an iowa rear plate. But Iowa definately likes the excuse to pull me over. I wouldn't have my plate any other way. When it's off, you'd guess the car never had one.
 
rip it off, make a spring loaded braket for it so when your driveing it folds up in to the under side of the bumper, friend of mine has it done to his 93. cops say it ok to have.
