I'm having an issue with the left rear airbag deflating in the cold, it won't pump up again until I turn the car off and key it on and close the door. After it pumps up it will not go back down again until later. (When its cold outside) If it sits without being turned on, it won't go down at all. Any ideas? Leveling switch or bag?

Thanks,

Richard Hood

I have similiar issue. When its cold (usually every night during the winter) I will come out the next morning to my front end completely slammed. When I start my car up the compressor will do its job and pump itself up to normal ride height and wont give me any problems. Its just when it sits for long period (over span of at least 8 hours) that the front bags will slam. I have this issue somtimes in warm weather overnight when its really humid.

You both have the symptoms of air bags that need replacing. If you were to use soapy water you would find they are leaking. They also develope minute cracks in the folds of the bag which leak as well. If you don't get these replaced soon you will probably be killing your compressor. These are not hard items to replace and are available from American Air Suspension. Eddie also sells a Spider Valve which will help your compreeor to live longer.

And to add to above, the cold weather contracts the bags exposing the cracks in the folds. Thats why it will do it more when there are extreme temperature changes.
