I had an idea when looking around at pictures. The LSE grille is real nice with chrome wheels, but with aluminum wheels the chrome looks slightly out of place. Anyone ever paint the chrome parts in an aluminum color to match the wheels? I think it'd look real nice.

Just get an '02 LSE grille and have the surround re-painted the color of your car.

I thought about it, but after unfortunately buying the Gen II version.
EDIT: Missed the part about painting the inside to match wheels. Would still be easier to paint the '02 piece, IMO.

I've got to ask, as I'm still somewhat of an LS newb. But aren't the 00-02 LS and LSE grilles the same, other than the LS is chrome? I'm thinking about sanding the chrome and having it painted body color. What is the major difference of the LSE grille, over the LS from 00-02?

Like I said, I don't see the difference in the overall grille. Would sanding the chrome down and painting it body color, and painting the plastic "grille" silver, achieve the same look? Aside from the chrome being body color, and the grille being silver as opposed to black/dark grey, I don't see the difference.
