New to Forum please Help!! Wheels, Trans, Lights ect.

Hello All,

I am a brand new member to the forum, but have read a few articles in the past. I own a 2000 LS V8 with 60k miles. I have already replaced the power steering pump and manifold, all 8 ignition coils, airbag sensor under the seat, and your typical brakes and pads a bunch of times.

I am now getting the famous check transmission light and have purchased a solenoid, filter and case of transmission fluid. I could really use any help and advice for having my mechanic change this out.

Secondly I know a lot of you are plagued with foggy headlights, how did you fix those?

Lastly do you or anyone you know have any OEm wheels available for this car. I would love the 02 chrome 17's or 2000 16 in chrome which I have now, but are badly flaking from rouch chemicals.

howdy new member. if youre mechanic dont know find a new one. there are many qualified lincoln guys out there that dont work at the dealer, but sometimes its worth it to bring your car to the dealer to make sure things are done right. good luck on your quest for knowledge search this site and youll find it. make sure and scan the codes for the light, they might mean more than fluid. and its better to catch it earlier then when its burnt up, that is the tranny. if it feel s funny dont drive it til you find out exactly what they mean. that is the codes. :W to:V :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Not sure how "famous" the trans problem is. The headlight issue has been beaten to death here in this forum and elsewhere. Many fixes are available, do a search. On the wheels, eBay will probably be your best bet.
