Rick had told me that when you unlock your car with the standard remote...ur headlights should go on and sure enough when he did with his LS...it did. Mine doesnt. Does anyones elses headlights go on when u unlock ur car day or night with te remote? Acutally now that i think about it....rick had an aftermarket alarm but it still sparks my interest to see if i would be able to do this. thanks!!

oh i have a 2000 LS sport.

Thanks.

Yeah must be the aftermarket system. But that's a kinda neat feature.

yeah i like it bcus he had HID and it looked tight for the lights to go on when ur outside the car. MY F-150 does it so i figured the LS might be able to. Oh well.

My marker lights flash. All Ls's do that though right? I have the stock system.

The headlights on my parents' Freestyle go on when you unlock the doors via the remote, but that happened on neither my previous ('04) nor current ('06) LS. The corner markers flash and the interior and puddle lamps light, but that's pretty much it. Every now and then, my CHMSL (3rd brake light) partly flashes when I hit the trunk release, and the same thing happened on my '04. (It's a very weak flash, so it may do it every time, but I only see it when the lighting conditions are just right.)

My headlights and fog come on when I unlock my car, but I also have an aftermarket security system

maybe the headlights come on when you unlock the car with the remote only if the headlight switch is on the auto setting. i wouldn't know i don't trust that feature but it is worth a try.

id think if you have xenons that the factory wouldnt do that because it'd be needless turning on/off of the xenons. ive never seen a car equipped with xenons do that and since they take a few seconds to warm up anyway...ive only seen halogens do that stock

My boys acura 3.2CL Type-S has stock xenons and they go on when he unlocks it. It looks tight.

If you leave your lights on (not the auto setting to the left), all the way to the right, they will stay on for a certain time then shut off automatically. i forgot to turn my lights off one day and when i came back to unlock it that night my lights came on when i hit the button on the remote and i loved it. my wifes old 00 deville did it so i figured the lincoln should be able to also. anyway, leaving the light switch all the way to the right will definitely make the lights come on upon pressing the unlock key on the remote, but the question is how much longer does the lights stay on after you leave the car, and will it eventually kill the battery? my battery was fine that night and i came back to it about 9 hrs later. looked tight though.
