My sunroof is leaking pretty bad and I am running out of custom things to do to my car without making it "overdone", so I was considering replacing it with a 35x40 sliding rag top. I realize that this is a lot of work and it will require cutting a huge hole in my roof, but that is not my concern. I just can't decide if it will fit the look of my car or not. What is your guy's opinion? Here is an example of a sliding rag top for those that don't know.

i've always wanted a sunroof.. but im sure they wont give u any assurance that it won't leak... watch out with that..

What about the structural integrity of the car after cutting a gaping hole in the roof like that? Do they mention any additional bracing needing to be installed afterwards? I think it would definitely be different and if it's what you want, why not?

I'd just fix the leak. I don't really like the look of those giant sliding roofs.

its a big advantage for a theif if you have one of those installed....i like them but dont think it would look right on the ls. hell i had one on my truck back in the day.

I wouldn't do it to my car. A bigger moonroof might be nice, but not the cloth versions; they just look cheap to me.

I have to agree that the cloth look might kill the luxury look.

If you feel you need to mod it somehow, why not look into something like the Scion tc glass sunroof. Might be pricey but probably more practical than the cloth.

Looks cheap and definitely NOT in line with the class of the LS.

The leak may be caused by clogged drain tubes. If so the fix is as simple as cleaning the tubes. Still, I'd fix the leak!
