Social media account with extremist comments could be tied to Trump gunman, FBI says​


The FBI has found a social media account featuring antisemitic and anti-immigration comments that investigators believe to be associated with the gunman who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump, a senior bureau official said Tuesday.

FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate told members of Congress that the account could be linked to the shooter, Thomas Crooks, but he cautioned that officials are still working to verify the account's authenticity.

"There were over 700 comments posted; some of these comments, if ultimately attributable to the shooter, appear to reflect antisemitic and anti-immigration themes to espouse political violence and are described as extreme in nature," Abbate told a joint hearing of the Senate Judiciary and Homeland Security committees. -snip

Yup... like I suggested more than once. Social media is responsible for Crook's behavior.

China, Iran... there's a long list of countries that are using social media as a weapon on weak minded people, and targeting "loners".

Same with Uvalde... Sandy Hook, Columbine, and others.

What the FBI are saying: Crooks was a registered Republican, supported Trump at one point and had possibly made a series of antisemitic and racist posts online.

What I'm saying: Obviously wait and see what the final word is, but if it walks like a Rightist, talks like a Rightist and votes like a Rightist, it's probably a Rightist.

Unhinged Trumpers do unhinged things. It is known. Maybe Trump was never Crook's real target and he accidentally got too close with one of his eight shots? Don't know. We'll see though, FBI are still investigating.

Why is that so crazy considering Crooks missed 8 shots from 500 feet away? But your home-brewed-keyboard-detective blood spatter analysis and bullet forensics were not, when you claimed without proof that Trump was shot from behind by a second shooter as fact?

Now I don't know Crooks' mindset as fact, why I've maintained just wait for the FBI to finish.
