The lincoln dealer tells me my part number is 3W4Z-14A664-AA for my clock spring. When I search used parts, I'm getting many parts that claim to fit my car with different part numbers. Can anyone verify if other part numbers will fit my car?

Sure we can, since you have told us nothing at all about your car!

My car is a 2003 Lincoln ls V8 with only 60K miles. The cruise stopped working. The horn sounds faintly. I heard a slight dragging sound from the steering column when steering. My mechanic tells me it is all caused by the clock spring, but no repairs have been done. My mechanic wants me to have the clock spring before he pulls the steering wheel.

Clock spring will fix it. I did mine myself but u gotta be a bit handy to do it.

I still don't know which clock spring fits. I cannot locate one with the part number supplied by the Lincoln dealer. When I see the picture from them it looks different than the pics on listings for a used one.

Wow I searched rockauto and came up empty. Then tried fordpartsgiant. They have 100 or more listings for air bag clock springs. I didn't search them all. Good luck.

3W4Z-14A664-AA should be the correct current number. Most real mechanics prefer to supply the parts from their own suppliers. Maybe you need to find a different one, because this one may be setting you up to take the blame if it doesn't work out. Does he even know the correct install procedure, if he can't verify the correct part number?

Yes. That's the number Lincoln gave me, but there are none available anywhere. The used parts available have different numbers on the parts but they claim the parts came out of 2003 Lincoln LS. This is where I'm confused.

I would not use a used clockspring. It is a wear item and not likely to work long in its new location. The part number changed through the years. That is the number for the most recent, most improved.
