I finally was able to change the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Fluid within the Lincoln mkS. The area was very tight but I was able to get it done. Here is the step-by-step on how to drain and fill the PTU lubricant for the 2009 Lincoln mkS AWD:

Don't forget to also do the RDU and transmission.
Fluid changes are the easiest way to make your car last.

Have you considered adding a drain plug to the PTU?
Fairly simple to do and really makes service much easier.

Thanks!
I won't add a drain plug because I don't drive it that often. I will only change it once every 2 or 3 years.

Yea the same for me. I like the idea of the drain plug but so far I just vacuum the fluid out and replace. Not that big a deal.
