Code Reader error

I have a “00 Ls V6 and my car is giving a linking error to vehicle on the diagnostic device. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
When I connected it to my car, it scans but will not read any codes, due to the device not being able to connect with my car.

Have you tried another scan tool? I would at least try another scan tool first.

What reader? Does it have all the pins in the plug or does it only have 6 or so?

I had a shop try it and there SnapOn scanner would not read it either
