1st gen transmission same between v6 and v8?

Picked up a 02 v8 auto with a rod knock for $75. I have a 00 v6 auto. Just seeing what parts I can use from the bad car.

The internals are the same, but the housing is not. It won't bolt up to your V6.

I would guess the suspension is pretty much the same...along with the body and internal cab components
