How much will the speedometer be off if I switch over to 235/45/17 from the stock 215/60/16?

On mine, the last two sets of tires I used 235/55/17. The same as a CTS, they are more a more popular size, so cost less. I know the slam it to the ground faction will scream but so be it.
I noticed a better ride right off and handling seemed more neutral. The other side benefit is my speed is dead on when go by the roadside radar signs!
BTW...I have a set of seven spoke 17's with dust caps that I would like to be out of my shed.

The offset was wrong though - 63mm.

That isn't even noticeable. They will be set 3mm inward. That's what, 1/4"? That's assuming they're 7.5" wide though... Use the calculator I linked to if you can find the width of the wheels. Offset doesn't have to be an exact match

You should never exceed 3%; and that is pushing it.

Stock is 235/50/17 on a 7.5" wide wheel with a 60mm offset. Or 215/60/16 (2001/2 was 225/55/16) on a 7" wide wheel, same offset.

I guess I missed a good deal then. I used TireRack.com to find the offset by shopping for new wheels there and the offset they had was between 40-42.
