Radiator fan running full speed - Found the PROBLEM

I've asked the question back in the spring this year, and no one can find the problem, including two different ford dealers. Last week my DCCV broke again (3rd time since I have the car brand new 2006), when I have dealer fixing it (I know I should do it myself, but I'm pretty slow and with two kids running around, no time), the find that the electronic heater pump also got stuck (5W4Z-18D473A). When they told me that, BINGO, my brain told me that they finally can solve the full speed fan problem.
I have the car back from dealer for a few days now, the fan now is not screaming any more. If you don't see me doing a follow up post by the end of this week, then it means that the problem got solved.

Why I post this is because I saw quite a few posts have the same problem and also online via google, but a lot of them got no resolution. Hope this benefits the brothers and sisters on the forum. :cool:
 
You say they changed out the heater pump and it stopped the fan from running on high speed, it's to my knowledge and I might be wrong

That the heater part of the system would only effect heating. My dccv on my 2002 v8 went out and the engine cooled properly, no high speed fan, and I drove around all summer with the A/C on while the hose clamp at the tee splitter leading to the dccv was open and leaking coolant noticed only by the white residue, and had no high speed fan conditions, or over heating issues. I didn't notice that the clamp was open until I turned it around and seen it while throughly investigating why the hose was tuning white. (Face palm)


I would think the issue was something else that was corrected in the process of changing out the heater pump. At that point they bled the system which freed it of air. You might have air being drawn back into the system from small cracks or degraded plastic coolant parts. Drive it and if it comes back start looking at your plastic coolant plumbing.
 
Perhaps the pump itself was leaking or letting air in? I too would be surprised if the aux pump was actually required for normal engine cooling.
 
A friend of mine has a 01 LS and his heater pump wire connector is broken and has been for years. He has no overheating issues or fan issues
 
what kind of friend are you? just letting this poor guy drive around with a broken part! j/k lolol
 
Im the friend who isnt going to buy a part for a friend who has alot more money than i do. I'd install it for him but thats about it!
 
I can't say anything about that I have a paper clip stuck down in mines. With the wire twisted around the paper clip. Lol

maybe he found it buried under a couple of inches in the ground...

that is definitely not something one should ever just go poking around with. the last thing you want to do is set one of those off on accident!
