I have a Motorcraft battery in my car and it's getting old. My questions is where do I get a battery. No one seems to show a listing for this car. I have checked the Optima Gel Battery and local auto part stores but they all say no listing for this car. Any ideas???
Thanks

go to dealer and get another motorcraft battery

And be sure to reconnect the vent tube. The correct Motorcraft battery at the dealer is at the same price as a good battery anywhere would be.

My local AutoZone stocks the correct Group 66 battery (both in the stock 650/675 CCA rating and the optional HD duty 750 CCA unit) and yes make sure to reconnect the vent tube.

I just had a new Motorcraft battery installed a couple months ago at a dealership, just under $150 if I remember correctly. No vent

Are you sure about that. You got the wrong one if it had no vent tube connection. Since the dealership installed it, they would be liable if you burn to death, but that won't be much consolation to your family.

BTW, no one makes a 12V car battery that has no vent. Some don't vent under normal circumstances, but all have to vent hydrogen in extreme circumstances. The alternative is for the battery case to explode.

Batteries only vent when they are charging right?

Only when they are charging (which is almost all the time the engine is running).
Only when they are discharging (which is almost all the time the engine is not running).
And sometimes when they are just sitting there.

yeah, you better double check to make sure there is a vent tube on the battery and that it is connected.

cause if not, do back to the dealership and give them hell.
