I got an 2003 LS V8 with about 100K. 89K I replaced all the spark plugs. Recently I went through a bunch of Mis fire codes rough idle and ended up replacing the a bunch of the coils. Now I am getting P0606 PCM/ECM processor fault.

P0606 has got me. The car runs fine. I tried clearing it the first time a couple weeks ago and now it is back. I did some reading that people claim this is diagnosed wrong and it may have something to do with the coils going bad.

This guys comments below the video here at the bottom seem to be what I am seeing:

But I am not sure about what he says to fix it.

Any thoughts on this? I really don't want to put the modules in this and spend a small fortune if there are not bad. I think i already have to put cats on it since I am getting catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2 and an o2 sensor didn't fix it. Thanks.

Please help. Thanks

His electrical understanding starts to fail just before the five minute mark.
I don't understand your comment of "This guys comments below the video here at the bottom seem to be what I am seeing:" I didn't see anything in the video or the comments about P0606.

AFAIK, P0606 is always a bad PCM. If you let it go long enough with marginal coils, you will damage the PCM and the catalytic converters.
You should (must) replace all the coils and all the spark plugs at the same time. You should use new Motorcraft coils and make sure the plugs are gap'd to 1 mm. Do this before replacing the PCM.

Note that when you replace the PCM, the car will not start until you (or a dealer) use a good scan tool to "marry" you keys, your cluster, and your replaced PCM together.

I suppose you might try having the PCM reflashed before replacing it, but I haven't heard of this fixing P0606.

Sorry didn't realize the youtube link embedded the video. Thanks for the quick reply. here is what he said about ECM fail (in broken english):
"to evryone fix missfire for lincoln be awear the pcm will cut the injector signle for same misfire cyl. after few scond whern engine start up ,while engine runing the pcm will send the injector signle to check if no more misfire if stil misfire cut agine , dont think pad pcm u have to make sure that is the case.if u use the scope u can see the signle normal at start up for few second the go away and start back evry few cycle just one time the cut agine"

Just not sure what he is trying to say here. I also read that it is hard to have these fail.

Sounds to me like he's saying a bad coil will confuse the PCM, causing the PCM to appear at fault.

Just a guess based on my interpretation of that attempt at English....... I sure hope English isn't his primary language!!
