My car overheated so I pulled off and called my mom and
her bf came over. WELL he put antifreeze in the place where
I will show you. Anyways I wasnt sure thats the correct
place and told him but he did it anyways. IS IT OR NOT?And
if not what is it? Any consequence?!?!?!

And I told him about the kind of antifreeze and he said it was the right one :/ im worried he screwed up and hoping thats not bad

The only antifreeze you want to stay away from is Dexcool, more colloquially known as Deathcool, or the orange stuff. When Dexcool mixes with air, heat and pressure, it turns into an acidic sludge known as Orange Jell-O that will eat the engine away from the inside. The green stuff or the yellow stuff are acceptable.

I think he put it in the wrong place because the engine coolant thing is in the right driver side near the fire wall, hopefully someone that owns the same year as you can confirm it , and hopefully he did put the right type in otherwise you will have to flush the coolant system and refill it with the right one

ok it was a green one but is that where is should go? in the picture? or what is that

:/ I knew I shouldnt have let him thats what I told him but he was all like "thats where it goes"

on the top right on the photo you can see a cap, that is where you add fluid

Its not a stupid question man i would be freaking out too if I thought my car was messed up, i am not a mechanic so I cant help much from here sorry , someone will come and help though :)

That's another area where you can put coolant besides the degas bottle. In fact this is the correct way to do it since it prevents air packets in your cooling system. As long as it's not dex-cool you're OK. Green or Yellow doesn't matter..

Relax no harm done, the guy did the correct thing. Now figure out why it overheated.

Did a closeup on the pic, and you can almost see the cracks in the degas. A closer picture of the degas would be more revealing.
