lower pcv valve on V6?, and what else to check?

I'm about to pull the upper intake on the LS V6 for coil replacement. It's throwing TB codes, but a new TB did not fix the issue. Coils and VCG's are about 15K miles old. While I've got it apart I want to check replace whatever makes sense during this repair so that this will be a dependable car for my daughter. Doing some reading here on LVC and found a couple of references to the lower pcv valve and hoses in the lower intake needing to be checked. Can anybody shed some light on this, like where it is? Pictures or a write up would certainly help me out. Also if there is anything else that I need to do while I'm at it, please advise. Thanks.

Ignore that part, I figured out that it does not apply to my 03 since it is a Gen II
