The title says it all. The car is stuck at Great Clips of all places. I don't have much hair and cut what I do have myself, but my daughter was getting her hair fixed up for Formal. Then I had to leave her there and walk two miles home to get the van so she wouldn't be late. No one was around to give me a ride.

Anywho, the starter has not acted up before, so I wonder if it's a bad wire or connection? These are prone to that, being close to the exhaust, right? I'm getting it towed; I'll look at it in the morning.

if the solenoid clicks, then power is probably not the problem.
its true though, sometimes the wiring does burn up. it is worth checking.
that main starter power wire is hot all the time, so unhook the battery before messing around down there.

you can try hitting the starter with a hammer while someone tries to start the car. works to get it home sometimes.

First and easiest thing to do to get it home is to have someone whack the starter with a hammer while you turn the key. Usually gets it to go one more time, if it is the failed starter.

I usually whack it right on the sticker that says 'do not hit' for an extra oompf.

Connections looked good so I replaced the starter. $69 for a rebuilt. It starts fine now.
