Selling my 18" Jag 'cygnus' rims

Great deal, and I am in the market for wheels. Too bad the cygnus's don't really do it for me.

You can have the old tires on them. They have a little life left in them but would need to be replaced soon. I would guess another 10K-miles or so left depending on driving habits. One tire also has a slow leak that I suspect is the schrader valve. Over the course of a month it will bleed of 10-15 pounds of air. Wear is even and uniform on all tires. Tires are the Continental ContiProContact 245/45R18 OEM jaguar tires. Good tires, ride and handle decently well. They are no performance summer tire though and lean a little more towards comfort then performance as far as a touring tire go. Still light years better then the original Michelin MXM4's on the car.

I'll also include the original Jag center caps. They look like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-New-2-25...&fits=Make:Jaguar&hash=item2ec7953b8a&vxp=mtr

You can get the Lincoln ones like what I have on them for $40 and trim the back so that they fit. I intend to transplant the center caps into my new wheels but I can sell the old ones too for the cost of new replacements on ebay (about $40 at the moment). The current one's aren't perfect. They need to have a dremel taken to the back-side to make them really sit flush in the rim. Still looks fine from 5-feet away though.

Here's some hi-res pics as promised:

I always liked how the curves play with the light on these. On the Gen2 Silver Metallic paint like mine they pretty much look color matched too.

And yes, taking the calipers/brackets/rotors off for prep and paint is on this list. Need to buy a second car so I can just play with this one. :)

Now you have me intrigued...what wheels did you get?

The guy I bought these from works at a Jag dealer in Tampa. He sold a 2010 XF last week and the buyer got custom rims with it. So he has another set of rims that are all pristine with no blems and I am buying them. Basically the same rims but without the road-rash. Since I need tires anyways I am going to get Continental ExtremeContact DW 255/45r18's mounted on them. Also going to install an Orange TPMS kit in them and throw the monitoring module in the center console or glovebox.

You should see the fat guy it has to carry around! It needs all the tire it can get! :shifty:

I never had a problem with the 245's rubbing or anything. Only time I ever heard them is when I bottomed the suspension out on a bump/driveway/etc. Rims are 18x8.5 and continental rates that tire i'm looking at to fit an 8.5" rim so I should be good. Plus I occasionally drive like I stole it. It's nice to have that confidence when you want it. Should be all kinds of fun once I slap the coil-overs on it too! Doing tires and coil-overs all at the same time so I only pay for the alignment once.

If you can do basic bodywork and paint or have a buddy who can hook you up then the rims could easily be re-finished. The reason I am not re-finishing the ones I have is cause I don't have a second set of rims to put on, don't have any contacts who do body work anymore, and the quotes I got to do the work were almost as much as new rims. Anywhere from $150 to $200/rim. I also hate anything body work related with an amazing irrational hatred. Just reallllly don't have the patience or knack for it.

So, I decided I would just wait till another set came up for sell instead.
