Couldn't get traction at all. The video is of my last (and best) run. Here's the breakdown:

60': 2.556 <<< massive wheelspin, had to pedal it
330: 6.636
1/8: 9.92
MPH: 75.65
1000: 12.716
1/4: 15.092
MPH: 93.02

Run2:
R/T: .092
60': 2.31 <<< still spinning
330: 6.28
1/8: 9.52
MPH: 76.18
1000: 12.304
1/4: 14.678
MPH: 93.10

Run3:
R/T: .031 <<< quickest reaction time of the day
60': 2.295 <<< still spinning, but let some air out of the tires (25psi)
330: 6.338
1/8: 9.616
MPH: 75.44
1000: 12.420

60': 2.248 <<< best 60' time of the day, still spinning!!!
330: 6.222
1/8: 9.471
MPH: 76.14

NICE. And LOVE that your neon works and your car looks great. It's gotta be all those things. F***in nicely done, dude!!!!!

Ha ha!!!! WO man :D

Oops! I stand corrected. :D I haven't been on the forums long enough to figure out who's who yet, but I'll definitely remember you next time! LOL

Did you beat the infiniti?

Unforunately, no. He ran a 13.987 @ 102.74. :( It was a brand new 2013 G37S Coupe w/ a 6-speed manual. His worst run was still a tenth quicker than my best.

Who could possibly complain about being beat by a car that's 16 years newer than yours??? Come on, man! Plus, your car is smokin' hot!!!!! I'd buy a beater MK8 a million times before I'd buy any type of ricer.

Don't be too discouraged man. You are spinning on street tires and are heavier and have less horsepower than that Infiniti does. These cars are heavy and underpowered by 21st century standards. If you are going to get those 60' times down, I think you are going to need to invest in a set of drag radials. That will net you a bit better ET. From there on, it's all bolt-ons and more tuning( a dyno tune especially if you don't have one yet). If you want to go further with your car and get into the 13s, swap to a Cobra intake and put full exhaust on your car with headers. It all depends on how far you want to go but I can tell you how to lay the smack down on that Inifinti if you have the money to spend. ;)

The g37 coupe actually is about 60 lbs lighter with manual than a mark and only has 20-50 more HP pending options.
It comes down to better gearing.
And if a lightly moded mark is spinning off the line (sans 3.73 or deeper gears)
You need to get good tires

Good point! And thanks!! :D I feel the same way.

Exactly. That's going to be my next mod (DRs). The car has a "canned" tune, but a dyno tune is definitely in the cards once I figure out what path to mods I want to take. Thanks for the help man! :)

It's definitely more like 50hp more based on the trap speed. I do have 4.10s and a 3600 stall converter. As mentioned before, the next "mod" will be a set of drag radials. Luckily I have an extra set of wheels from when I swapped to Octastars on my other Mark. I think the track conditions might have had an impact as well. My best time with this exact setup was 14.397 @ 95.92, with a 2.0 60'. A lot of people were complaining about the [lack of] traction that day.

Nice runs by the way
Also I don't see a g37s listed for 2013

Also I'm fairly certain that you shouldn't do a big burnout on street tires makes them worse
Just a little spin to get them clean

Thanks man! :) They call it the "sport" (even though the badge says S), and it only comes with a 6-spd manual, should be there.
It's funny you should mention that though about the burnouts! My first run I did exactly that (a little spin to clean them) and ran the worst time of the day. The second run I repeated the "mini" burnout procedure and ran the 2nd best run of the day. Lowered the tire pressure to 25psi and did a similar burnout to what you saw in the video for both the 3rd and 4th run. So I'm not sure if dropping the pressure helped/hurt or doing the "big" burnout helped/hurt.
