I am looking to have my differential rebuilt next month with a 4.10 gear and traction lok and trying to find a decent traction lok at a good price. I found this one out of a 2001 mustang gt and was wondering if the groove at the end is what allows it to work with an irs. I know most the older traction loks weren't made to fit our irs.

nope. i didn't say that. ;) in fact, i have a mustang SRA carrier in my car.

remove the circlips from the half shafts and they will work fine. otherwise they will get stuck in the diff.

That is good news. I don't want to spend the price on SCP for a new one. Trying to do all of this on a budget.

Or, have a buddy with a lathe cut a 45 degree chamfer into the inside of each side spider gear. BAM! Instant IRS-ready trac lok housing. That's what I did. I like doing things 100% if at all possible.
