'96 IMRC's- damaged wiring

searched for a little while but didn't find an answer:
I got a line on a pair of used '96 IMRC's pulled from the JY, unfortunately the cables were cut (all 3 wires) about 1'' from the pod, the rest of the cable w/ male plug end is available for soldering back together.
Is there any reason it won't work normally after it's repaired?

my dad was saying maybe if too much heat is absorbed by the sensor, under the pod cap, it could damage it...like if i did it, without a heat sink and just laid into it with the iron

I soldered them and wrapped in electical tape. I'm out of heat shrink.

Ya, what he said. For OBDII the wires are just for sensors that monitor the open/closed position of the vacuum actuators.

you mean...one of the two actuators? or one of the three wires per actuator? currently I keep a P1537 light on, which is from the pass side bank not maintaining vac..my driv side works properly.. both sides the elect. connectors hooked up

I think he meant them, not one. Both need to be hooked up properly otherwise you get the code. Only point being that they dont actually perform a mechanical function. They are just for the computer to make sure they are working as they should.

I'm looking fwd to seeing the difference in having both imrcs working normally...bank 1 has been non-functional for at least a year..to do this job: pull hood, wipers, cowl grill...also replace IAC while I'm back there? anything else? TPS?

IAC is a good bet. Best to replace, not clean really. TPS, sure. Its a pain too. May want to pick up that nasty vacuum "T" back there. Not hard to replace with things in place, but its probably bad. Intake tube to throttle body gasket can be iffy or deformed. Generally a pain to get on just right. Use throttle body cleaner on the throttle body, not any generic cleaner such as for brake parts, etc, if you decide to clean it for any reason.

Good luck! If it does not work, it may even be a stuck blade bank, which means the IMRCs come out for a good cleaning.
