Help wiring a 2nd gen third brake light

I know its here somewhere... But is there a write up for how to wire up a 2nd gen third brake light to a first gen... what resistors are needed and all that. Im not to concerned with mounting, I'll get that. Just need a wiring how-to. I thought we had one somewhere, but I cant find it!

All the resistors that you need should be built into the gen II light assembly. It should be as simple as positive to positive and negative to negative. I don't know if gen I has a bulb minder circuit on the 3rd brake light, but gen II doesn't.

No it does not (Gen I) I had that bulb burn out and it gave no error at the time.
I also read it in the OM, that it only had a bulb minder on the tail brake lights.

Hey G, what are you working on here cuz I think I'm on the same project 'cept I've been looking in the yards for something LED from another manufacturer that might fit.

The Gen I bulb holder housing is 8 inches across before it starts bumping into the rear vents.
I've been looking for something lower with only one strip of LED's and no longer then 8 across.

Either that or I'm hoping to get one molded into a spoiler on the rear deck.

He's putting on the tall double level ricer wing so he needs his 3rd brake light higher to pass the D.O.T. check point while were running 'shine over the county line. YeeeeeHewwwww

You could always save yourself alot of work and this....no need to move the 3rd brake light at all
