Lincoln Ls 2001 and 2006 factory audio

I have a 2001 lincoln ls with a 12 speaker system and 6 disc cd changer.
I also have a 2006 lincoln ls with the 4 speaker system and single disc w/ cassette. I also see in my 2006 in the trunk there is a connector just mounted there with nothing plugged in it. is it the same that the amp and rear speakers in my 2001 connect to? Is my 2006 prewired to just plug the amp and rear sub speakers in. What i really want to know is can i put the 12 speaker factory system in a lincoln that is wired for 4 speaker system? Can i take all the wiring from the premium sound sytem and put it in?

Doubt it. The electronics between the two generations are different. That said, the rear deck sub enclosure may work, I don't know.

You actually have 8 speakers. The door speakers are two-way whizzer-cone paper speakers.
