True-Rev Induction TR-123903

You're getting a filter + MAF adapter only with that kit. K&N kit comes with that + the actual intake tube. I guess the K&N kit helps reduce intake restrictions by offering a complete smooth tuber interior + it's not resonated like the standard one.

Having owned both...

As far as performance i doubt theres any difference that you'll notice.

IN MY OPINION, the K&N offers a bit better sound and makes the engine bay look quite nice. So really it just comes down to sound and looks.

I mean look how pretty :D:

I was completely satisfied with mine, until I saw how nicely yours looked after it was body matched. Now I am super jelly.

+1 on that. The inside of the K&N intake is very smooth. Feeling slick to the touch really, I doubt an less restrictive proper intake could even be made.

The silencers on the stock tube are more than silencers. They actually help with air flow. I will look later for the article explaining

Intake Tube Pulses

The resonator in your intake is technically known as a Helmholz resonator, an acoustic device used to control pressure wave harmonics. Air bouncing back out of your engine and into the intake tube doesn't do it in a single pulse the way it would in a single intake runner; the multiple pistons put out pressure waves at their own intervals, and some of those are going to try to bounce back in while others are going out. The result is a "clog" or high pressure area in your intake tube that ultimately limits airflow through almost the entire rpm spectrum.

I noticed that some cars don't have any chambers at all, e.g. G37.

M4rk something tells me new cars that don't have them or not as many have found ways to better overcome the issue. Were as with our motor it may been the simplest way to overcome it with out redesigning the whole manifold

Haha thanks man. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Now I want to do the "SCT" in red, get some strut covers, and I think I can call it a day on the engine bay.
