So I just installed the K&N intake

and sweet baby jesus, does that thing make it sound awesome. I mean, I read that the biggest improvement was the sound but I wasn't expecting all that.

PS. Does anyone know a good place to get those small black engine cover tabs that hold it in place. The previous owner somehow managed to lose all of them.

Those engine tabs are tough to find. When I bought my LS one of the tabs was missing. About 6 months later I was changing out the thermostat housing and dropped a bolt which got stuck on top of that undercarriage guard beneath the engine. When I shined a light around in there I actually ended up finding the missing cap wedged in there somewhere lol

You can find a pretty large assortment of the black push-tab type things your talking about at Advance Auto Parts or Autozone, they are usually in the "Help!" section, I bought a pack of like 10 to replace the ones that were missing on my front upper radiator cover thingy.

fordpartsgiant.com has those pins for the shroud. I have a partial Ford part number 708656-S300. They are interchangeable with the ones for the T-Bird as well.

My inspection has been dead for a month and no one will inspect it because of my windows. Occupation be damned.
