I just noticed one of the plastic coolant pipes on my 04 3.0 split right down the middle, the one under the throttle body that has the little port on top. Is there a specific name for this piece or is it only a dealer part? :(

Thanks, thats the 3.9 though, looks different and dont see the one thats spilt but $700?? I think Ill take my chances on the rest for now. The rest of the hoses and pieces visible look good at 93k right now.

Should be able to find it here.

You can replace the plastic parts now in one go, or change out another one and the lost coolant every month or so until you get them all. Doing one now and going a year or two before you have to change anything else out is not an option unfortunately.

$101 for a piece of plastic at the dealer, tempting enough to take out the PVC Cement and Duct Tape.

Its the piece with the front bleeder on it but I don't see the part number 8B274 anywhere?

You can probably only get it as part of assembly 8B502. You really really want to replace the whole assembly and the other plastic parts too. Otherwise, you will be back here in a week to a month complaining about how one of the other parts has split now.

The plastic deteriorates. I promise that the other parts are soft and ready to fall apart too.

Even if you could seal this leak with glue, another part of the tube (or another tube) will split open soon afterwards, particularly since sealing the leak will allow the whole system to pressurize again. This will put more pressure on everything else, so that the next weakest spot can be found.

I see your point but I just cant see the whole system going out at once, have a few friends with the same car well over 100k miles and not one coolant issue yet. The rest looks decent for now!

Okay, ignore the experiences of several of us...

You will be proven wrong! Because a small sample of friends with the same car beats out a larger sample of cars all over the country. Statistics, they mean nothing.

Not statistics, but a pattern.
Anyway, not my problem...

How did the broke pipe look two weeks ago?

I can understand the reason behind not wanting to change out all the parts, I had the same problem because at the time of failure of the coolant outlet pipe, I didn't have the cash to buy all the parts. then during the repair, the thermostat housing crumbled while taking it apart (more waiting for parts to arrive) then during bleeding and testing, noticed that there was another small leak on another pipe. So it had to be drained and repaired again (this time I didn't feel like doing it again so I just went ahead and replaced the rest of them.
