Tachometer for the slow and stupid

So I'm going to go ahead and ask this because I am not good at figuring this out after reading all the tachometer threads.

My tach was working. I saw it working. Then I went to start the car one day (this was about 5 months ago now) and the tach just stayed near the bottom, a little bit below "1". And that's where it has sat.

Before I pull the dash to see if it's the paper making the needle stick, what else can I check on the car (and where ) that could cause the tach to stop working? All the other gauges work fine.

You don't have to pull the dash, just the gauge cluster

20 min to R&R the gauges, just need a long T-20 torx and a stubby Philips.

mine got stuck too. i just replaced it with one from a low mileage car. all better now.

Anyone have a tach gauge for sale?

sounds like it just slid down and stuck the needle. when you open the glas just put it back and place and reglue it. theres a tech article that will show ya how.

yeah that did not work on mine. we also had an XR7 with the same gauge problem.
