sounds good to me.
i recently put a cheap radiator in mine. roughly 100. works fine. might have been spectra too. can't remember.

Funny you made a thread, I saw that ridiculous price on Amazon too just yesterday;

http://www.amazon.com/Spectra-Premi...r=1994|1994&carId=006&n=15684181&s=automotive

Looks like they're offloading them at a low price just to get rid of them. I've installed Spectra radiators two times on two other cars and they seem decent enough. They work, anyway.

At 80% off you don't have much to lose.

True, for the price it's worth the risk.

Mines been leaking worse than last winter now that the colds back. That damn bottom passenger side seems to be a common problem on these. I have to look around before I pull away from a parking spot so nobody see's my stain. :( But hey, 15 years and 150k ain't too shabby for a radiator.

Awesome, Should be here soon!

I live for these types of deals. :)

Ebay has an all aluminum unit for 120 shipped. Beats the hell outta the plastic capped radiators

I've been on a buying binge for over a year snatching up original Ford parts before they're gone, but that's one part I just can't justify paying the Ford price for. You could buy over a dozen of the Spectras for the same price as one Motorcraft. LOL Besides, it has "Premium" in the name so it must be good!

you need a separate trans cooler for that one Jesse?

I can't seem to find the one that I had my eyes on but no, it was just like factory, with all mounting points and whatnot. And accepted factory trans cooler. Only downside is it is single row like factory.

I put a rockauto radiator in my 96, im not sure what brand, and just over a year later, after the warranty expired, one of the tanks ruptured and I had to replace it. I bought one with a lifetime warranty from keystone.

but for $32, its still hard to pass up.

Didn't need it but bought one off amazon. Price is now $28.28 with free shipping. Going to put it up till I need it.

I saw that this morning. I should've waited a day. :)

Called up Pep Boys for shts n' giggles to get an estimate on a radiator replacement....$500

$500? Hah! Replacing a radiator on this car is child's play, and since the new one only costs $30...

To remove radiator.. remove upper hose from crossover, at the radiator. Unplug fan and remove both bolts and remove fan
Disconnect lower hose on drivers side at radiator, remove both trans cooler lines. Remove both mounting brackets and remove radiator.

$500 to R/R the radiator at pep boys?!?!?! ... even if the radiator price was $400 it wouldn't cost $500...lol... I need to raise my rates!

It did include a flush:rolleyes:. He said it was 1.8 hours, aka .5. But yeah, I found it a tad up there. :)

So....

Removal:

Drain radiator

Remove upper hose from crossover, at the radiator.

Unplug fan

Remove both -2- upper fan bolts and remove fan

Disconnect lower hose on drivers side at radiator

Remove both trans cooler lines -2-, one on each side.

Remove both -2- mounting brackets and remove radiator.

Fill via crossover and bleed cooling system

That's it?

Thank you oh so very much Sapper. :)

$32 is a killer deal..I love Amazon. Ive bought 3 radiators from pep boys 2 for my old Thunderbird..one of which sprang a leak at the plastic side tank after 2-3 years..and then one in my mark viii which has lasted about a year so far..knock on wood. I'm sure its the same brand you're talking about, but like others said for 32 bucks you can't go wrong.

I stepped up for one , I just couldn't resist 28 bucks much less free ship , hell it's almost like free and I paid 28 tho ship it.
One more piece for the parts hord.

Gentlemen, thanks for the heads up. Had my 97 Mark since 2004 67k. Now it has 157k with the same cold weather leak. I ordered two.I will install after I reinstall the 4:10's, freshly built trans with JMOD, 3200 stall, cooler, 1997 Cobra intake cams, lower bearings (mains and connecting rods), IMR delete, and complete reseal, keeping the cats and adding x pipes and mufflers from LMS, and a tune...so I guess I'll replace the radiator. Thanks again!
