Well, sorta new, I've had it for a few months now. Its an 06

If I rip out the radio, will I lose my warning chimes? it was like that for my 99 Seville, it was a pain to install my audio in it.

While I was researching the car, I came across a thread from here talking about some heavy duty cops from another vehicle. Did that ever pan out? If not, are the visteons pretty much the community consensus for the best replacements?

Visteons do seem to be the COP of choice. I am running Visteons as well as several others with no issues. I have an aftermarket radio and the only difference I can for sure confirm is the loss of the steering wheel controls, which I never used anyway.

I think you are also referring to the use of Mustang Accel Coils in which case they did work but the polarity needs to be reversed in the coil plug itself, meaning the plug that feeds the coil.

No warning chimes play through the radio. You won't lose anything. You can even retain the steering wheel audio controls with the correct adapter (if your replacement radio accepts remote or steering wheel controls).

So far, Visteons seem fine.

Cool, I reinstalled the radio into the trunk in my Seville, I am not going through that again lol.

I've searched for that thread and can't find it. I'll just have to assume that's what they are. In that thread, I believe a shop owner had some and said that if there was a demand for it he would see about getting them in production, or something like that.
