On my 94, the sunroof doesn't work, so I took down the headliner (mess I say) and put 12v to the motor, well it works. So, the next culprit is the little box it plugs into, which has to be the culprit. Problem is, I ordered a 93 motor, complete assembly, but it's different then a 94 assembly. So, maybe 94-96 are the same, 93 is different, and 97-98 is different. Does anybody have that little black box? Anyone know what I am talking about? :shifty:

listing for that item ended, did the gen 1 headliner not have a moonroof motor hole?

my factory mark vii had a moonroof motor access panel and so does my 97 VIII, the gen 1's i've owned never had a moonroof...that would suck to have to pull the headliner out just to gain access

I can easily take pics of my motor / box but I have a gen 2, i also have a spare motor laying around to.

If your motor is in good working condition, maybe your switch could be bad?

Not sure what if anything else is on that circuit but Have you checked the fuse?

that's the right motor. looks just like the spare i have laying in front of me.

gen 1's DO have a sunroof access door. do you have an aftermarket sunroof?

It ended because I bought it a while back lol. Nope, no motor hole here, have to take the headliner down in the back, then I can see the motor, and module box. Fuse is good, so is the switch, everything is lit up on it. I am pretty positive though that it's the module box.

Mine really doesn't have an access door, I mean, it's not there, just headliner in the way. I'll have to snag a pic of it, and the motor and module box sometime. Looks factory to me, but hell who knows. I found alot of things that aren't factory on this car since I got it. Hell I swapped fuel pumps the other day, and it had a Walboro in it, but I replaced it with a generic one, not being sure how many miles the Walboro had on it. :shifty:

Haha, thanks for the correct term! You have a deal, I don't need this one, seeing as how it won't work with mine. Have a picture of the module? :D

Well, I did indeed find out it was aftermarket. After looking at the switches, and finding no access hole, and noticed it's from asc, and the sticker inside my door, that says "vinyl top specialties". The place that installed it, is 4 hours away, and I am not traveling that far, to get a replacement "main computer" box for it. This blows.

No Motor Access door behind the sunroof? Then it's aftermarket. Also a good way to tell is all non sunroof Mark VIIIs have a dome light where the sunroof would be. Those with a sunroof have the dome light at the window. My 94 has an aftermarket sunroof. Dome light is in front of the sunroof. ... I put my money on its aftermarket.
