even so, the jmod, stock w3z3, and stock gearing didn't have any problem tearing apart the tires on a 1-2.

More pressure will grip the bands harder so there is less slippage. Minimal stock but it becomes more useful with greater power output but to much pressure cause it own problems.

Exactly Don. There is a line that one should never cross, and a good tuner will know.
