Thunking noise in dash

Thunking noise in dash? I seem to have a thunking or tapping noise that sounds like it is coming from inside my dash on the driver's side. I suspect it is something with the DATC. When the AC is on and I start the car, or shut it off I hear the sound. I ran the diagnostic on the DATC control unit and it did not give me any errors. I am not sure where to look for this. I didnt think that there were any moving parts associated with the DATC behind the dash on the driver's side.

There are some number of air control doors behind the dash. They can make a little noise and still be okay. The noises may continue for several minutes after you turn the key off. If you're not getting any failure codes, then they should be okay.

Thanks for the response joegr. I have nightmares about taking the dash out of the wife's grand cherokee 3 times to fix blend door issues. My other LS did not make any of these noises though, at least not more than a single clunk.
