I bought my 1995 Mark VIII in factory silver a few months ago, my first Mark VIII, and the tires on the back are about shot. The wheels on it right now are 16" MSR chrome finish alloys, which actually look really good, and they came with. So, the question is, purchase some P225 60 V or Z 16s, or go to a 17 or 18 for more tire options. Right now, grip in the wet absolutely blows, looking for summer tires, dont care about snow traction, I'll get a factory set of wheels for that.

In any case, looking for opinions of what wheel finish would go best with the factory silver paint, any models that people recommend. Dont have time to convert to cobra R hubs, so that's out of the realm of possibility at that point.

Ideas, suggestions, opinions are appreciated!

Suggestions on a tire then?

Just get a cheap all season tire..they're 16" stock wheels..no need for summer high performance tires if the rest f the vehicle is stock..browse tirerack.com and see what you like.

Well, I've been told to make sure its V or Z rated, the car does see triple digits on the freeway from time to time or under a long pass (lots of straight roads where I live) and I do belt it here and there around corners. I do tend to drive aggressively.

Car has full dual 2 1/4" exhaust with FloPro magnaflow style mufflers and a flo pro x pipe in place of 3rd cat (when one of the front cats go I'll do the Kooks headers swap)

I have a spare computer I'm thinking about sending off to Geno to get tuned since he doesnt have the powerMaxx chips anymore.

Stock :( makes a car look so unloved, 10 spokes are decent tho

Hub swapping doesn't take long, I could have it done in a few hours, but you'd need brakes too, or have your rotors drilled. I just picked mine up from the machine shop :D

I wish the brakes were in crappier shape, they were JUST done before I bought the car in front and in back.

Hub swapping is a waste of time and money. Especially if you don't see yourself in that car in five years. Just get yourself some nice Goodyears, Firestones, or Michelins and be done with it. Take time to enjoy the car before you start listening to everyone and putting money into it.

Well, I do plan on being in the car for the long haul. I have 3000 more to pay on it, so if the motor goes, I'm paying for a rebuild. If the tranny goes, I'm paying for a rebuild.

You took a loan out on a mark viii? That thing better be low mileage and nice as hell..these things should be nothing more than cash cars at this point considering what they're worth and how old thy are now..

88,000 Miles, cost me 4,000, I didnt have the cash lying around, but I was making good monthly money, and my cougar was dying on me. I've wanted one for awhile, so I got a nice 6% rate and no down. It was owned by an old christian guy who had a lot of gospel cds in portland.

Anyway, I was living in Portland Oregon at the time, had the custom plate L8 TWO on it when I bought it

I'd go open up those valves a little bit with some seafoam , sounds like a pampered car and probably need to have her legs stretched out

Haha, she's running 0W-30 AMSOIL right now with a amsoil filter. She leaks a bit, I go through a quart of ams oil every month/month and a half, since I've owned her I've had to do a bunch of driving, I'm actually up to 115000 now, had her since November of last year.

She smokes a tiny bit on start up only, and even then after sitting for the night, but she's got plenty of pep in her step. So far I've had the O2s replaced, rear shocks w/ mounts replaced, new exhaust system, two new ignition coils, wires, plugs, pcv valve, new air intake thats smoothed and de-lunged.

Next performance modification will be an LSD.
