And I thought my $250 Queens Garage Was Bad...

My solution was to just not live in NYC :)

Driven through Manhattan a few times. Pretty sure I would just not own a car if I did live there.

40 bucks to park across from my office per day. I'll pay that over a scratched bumper. lol

$800 per month for parking?

I'm starting to love my "middle of nowhere" location lol.

NY sucks for owning a car/travelling, cost of fuel, car insurance, parking, storage, tolls, accidents, pothole damage to car tires/wheels, birdcrap, tree sap, people with
no insurance hitting you, hit and runs, jealous people vandalizing, tire stabbings, window breakers, rocks flying up at windshield on highways, taxi/limo cost, bus/train cost

did I miss anything, oh wait there is always the not so uncommon kid running across your car or using it as a couch.

BTW since cost is on here just wondering,

1) what do you pay for car insurance
2) what is premium fuel cost in you area presently,
3) what are bridge/road toll cost where you regularly travel

I don't drive in every day. Maybe once a week just because.

Park a kid? I park my kids on various women's body parts which equals more money for me to spend on dumb sh!t ;)

i was going to say, for $800 a month, you could just afford to have the entire car repainted every few months, makes is easier to handle* (edited because of the childish nature of a few of the people on here).

2) A little north of $4/gallon
3) Nothing like that here.

1) 130 a month,no fault, full coverage, 200 decidable, $5k in extra coverage for stuff added (stereo, wheels, electronics...)

2) under $4(most of the time) for 91 $.20 more for the few places that have 93

1. Geico $53/month
2. $4.27 premium, Astoria Sunoco
3. None now!

My chest tightens up a little every time I think about my old daily Queens/Bronx/Jersey commutes and back...$13 a day in tolls, 2 hours in traffic, and very pissed...BUT NO MORE :)

1) $240/mo
2) $3.40/gal for 87
3) $1 if you go over the sunshine skyway or the crosstown expressway

Insurance was $130/mo until the accident in October. First accident I had in 10-years. For some reason insurance is just high around here. Even my old man who has a half-dozen house policies and not an accident in 20 years still pays about $80 for his F-150.

Lot of old people down there. If they are not dying and driving the insurance rates up, they are driving and causing the insurance rates to go up. :p

how much is 91+?

93 is about 25-30 cents more then regular. Saw it listed for $3.66 on the way in to the office this morning. Regular is now $3.35. It's cheaper the closer you get to the Port of Tampa. That's where the tankers show up at from Louisiana. The gas is then trucked out to central and northern Florida.
