Not only was that not an option, the then VP of Marketing (Jim Rogers) threatened to "break the legs" of any dealer that did that to an LS. He told them to have at it with any other Lincoln but leave the LS alone!

Lol funny thing is I'm on the hunt for a 06 LSE & I said the same thing when I saw that top! I called & asked if that crap can be removed & what damage will it have after removed. Guy said it will need to be sanded down to remove glue & painted. I might go look at it to see for my self. Ever since I called they've been buggin me non stop.
 
Buy it, but as long as they restore it to factory shape.

I wouldn't mess with them just for the fact that they are the type that post the same damn ad back to back 100 times. I hate that crap. Also for the price they are asking they need to snatch that top off and paint it themselves.
 
Yeah I wouldn't buy it unless they fixed that crap. Just for the hell of it I made a 12500 Cash offer & he said they could work with that but that was last week & I haven't called them back. Even if they take the offer, that top crap is a big killer.
 
Too bad too because everything else about the car looks great. But hey, it's a convertible right? Might look good when the top is down lol
 
No offense to you LS guys but that ragtop looks horrible. Completely kills the nice look a LS have. quick question, LS's came from the factory with navi ? back up cameras too or no?

None of us likes the carriage top and yes the 2003 and up had a navigation system option and backup sensors but no camera. But there's a way to add backup cam to the factory nav.
 
Top removal: 8ft forks on 20 ton forklift, sawzall! No problem! A little duct tape & Elmers Glue!

Better yet, the backup sensors aren't just ultrasonic. There's also a radar range finder in the center. (That's why there are just two ultrasonics, and not four like you see on a lot of cars.)
