Well it finally happened. At 133000 miles the check transmission light came on. Brought it to the tranny guy who confirmed the worst. It needs a new transmission. $2600 and I could have her fixed. Decided against the repair and was successful in trading it in without the dealership picking up on the problem. Its the end of an era and I will miss the LS greatly. However her replacement is more than filling the void:

LOL...with $20 grand to spend i would have not gotten a fwd buick but good luck with it.
 
Another FWD appliance.

Repairing the transmission is much cheaper than car payments! Cheating the next owner, are we? Good luck with that. You better hope others are more honest with you than you are with them!
 
Why are almost all new American (passenger) cars all bulky and tall looking, like a boat? MKS, MKZ, and many others come to mind.
 
Was the car driving fine with the check tranny light on?

The shop is always going to tell you you need a new tranny, even when you don't
 
It's almost insulting lol. Tons of nice vehicles can be had for that price range. Look up the Volkswagen phaeton.

I'm with you sir! It has to be the safety component. That high beltline that makes it so difficult to see behind you. Notice, alot more cars have the option for backing sensors. I saw them on a little itty bitty car just the other day.

Those of us 40ish and above will remember the complaints..."they don't make cars like they used to. The old cars were like tanks made of steel! These new plastic cars can't even take a good smack in the fender" . Hmmm.

I wish I could have taken a photo of the accident scene I went by in Franklin, IN yesterday. A Ford Edge T boned by an 87 Camaro. Just replace the driver's door on the Edge. That Camaro looked like someone tried to assemble it without using any nuts and bolts. Like a cartoon.

Perhaps, but I personally think it's their lack of design skills. For example, if you look at European brand such as BMW, their cars still have the same basic shape without the retarded bulkiness to them. They sit low and have elegant lines all throughout. If anything, the new F30 3-Series has a more slanted hood due to some pedestrian safety requirements in the EU.

I think NA automakers are leaning towards these bulky designs to ready us for hideous electric cars that the future might bring :D
 
Should parted it out probably would have gotten more $ for it.

Speaking out of greed I really want an lse grille.
 
Dude, the new Buick's are awesome vehicles. I love them. I would consider buying one for my next car. I hope they don't have any issues. :D
