The Lincoln Mark VIII is by far the most satisfying car Lincoln ever built. Think of it as a Mustang SVT Cobra, in an Armani suit.



Lincoln borrowed the 32 valve, Dual Overhead Cam 4.6 liter V8 from the Mustang, then added a trick air-suspension and loads of leather and electronic goodies. At 55mph, this car actually lowers itself one full inch to give the driver more control.

note: Thanks to two friendly surfers, I've learned that the dohc 4.6 in the Mark VIII was actually designed for it. It was the Mustang that borrowed the motor for the Cobra in 1996. So Ford didn't just throw this bad boy together with whatever parts were available, it was designed to be the way it is. Bad a$$

The Mark was also designed to get the Eaton Supercharger that eventually went into the '03/'04 Cobra. Just see Geno's '93 for proof of the blower and the hood bulge in the 2nd Gen to see what might have been. We'd definitely be the big mack-daddies.
