On earth.
I have a 2006 LS Sport. SO no nav system and all those goodies, just a reg 6 disc changer. Here is my issue.

Radio around here sucks, really bad. So I am really looking into XM as an alternative. The LS is "XM ready" but really what does that mean, I have the "SAT" button on my radio but I don't know what all the things I need for it.

My buddy gave this to me, not sure if I need it though.

the factory radio being "XM ready" means that it has the ability to control an XM tuner, but it has to be the correct tuner, which in this case would be the OEM sat radio tuner and antenna.

wouldn't the factory radio be "sirius ready"? i thought ford was exclusive to sirius, not XM

you could add that Onyx to your car, but then you would have that extra tuner sitting on the dash somewhere unless you hide it. you would also want to get the Sirius XM FM Direct to get the sound from the tuner into your factory stereo.

...

Yes, but there used to be an aftermarket XM tuner (similar to PIE) that used the factory controls. I'm not sure if it is still around or not.

Shoot an email to Andy (LobsenzA @ AncoAuto.com). He will be able to hook you up!

I would throw that on ebay and sell it and put it towards a new double din with the features that you want built into it.
