searched and only threads on x-pipe or y-pipe are for 3.9 v8's....so can/what choices do the v6's have for an x-pipe? all i have done on my exhaust is mufflers so looking to do more but want some "experts" opinions hahah, anyway help me out peps

well since pretty much every X pipe setup for the 3.9's has to be custom built, all of the options are still the same

so just go to exhaust shop and get one fabricated...what kinda cost did you experience? any idea on sound/performance it did?

Some of the guys I know have bought a x-pipe piece and then have had the exhaust shop graft it into their exhaust system along with bigger pipes of course.

If you are going to just be patching the stock exhaust I wouldn't do it. Save your money and get a whole new exhaust put in. X-Pipe, better mufflers, etc.

You can patch in parts using the existing tubing but make sure you remove resonators, along with better mufflers and the xpipe.

yea i just bought one off of summit racing and took it to by buddies garage and had him replace the third cat with it, probably very little performance gains, but it did make give a little deeper growl to the sound

You mean the middle canister?

Its not really a cat but i know what you mean....i chunked that thing too.

it sure it on a 2nd gen(03), i just hollowed it out a few weeks ago, it has the exact same honeycomb Catalyst as the front two cats did.

now its been a while since i did the exhaust on my 1st gen, so it may be a little different.

Oh really didnt know that.

So the LS stock has an H-pipe, two front cats and one middle cat.

at least on my 03, the two pipes come together in the middle cat, so it is basically like a factory H or X pipe. i would say more of an X pipe than an H.

now i thought my 1st gens had a crossover tube behind the resonators but again its been a few years, so pretty much an H pipe
