Ok, I bought the front passenger side speaker, it came in today, i got the factory speakers, so i got a 2000 LS Sport ..

Now before you see the pics, i looked at a members 2000 LS with the factory speakers, at the top there was a little one and the bottom, a big one .. The two front speakers have a tremendous amount of bass, now i asked some of you if they came with an amp, answer was no, now if you look closely, the watts says 25W, now how can 25W produce such a great amount of bass? I also orderd the back speaker, same side, 50W, with the bass in the front, i cant even hear the back speakers ( on the doors ) So anywho ..

Is this the right speaker Ford gave me? i even gave them the VIN # and everything, they said its the same speaker i have in the left side in the front, but i got that factory speaker image from that members front door and im confused .. Now, this speaker might be the right speaker but the previous owner must've installed an amp for the front, and dunno where he put it i guess ..

( BTW, i never took the door panel apart yet to see if those are the right speakers, I'm waiting for a good day and my buddy is gonna install them for me )

Thanks guys

That is a standard, non-audiophile speaker. They make bass like hell with barely any treble. If you had an audiophile system, those come in a plate setuip that fits a 5x7/6x8 hole, with around a 5 or 4" woofer and tweeter and midrange mounted in the plate, if I am not mistaken. I have a set of each speaker at home and am visualizing out of memory. That 5x7 they sold you has been used in everything. My son's SVT focus, my wife's marauder all have the same 5x7 "whizzer cone" speaker with a paper cone molded into it for simulated tweeter sounds. :-)

The 25 watts is max power and your radio makes all that bass with less than 5, most likely. It's all about the efficiency of those $2.00 speakers and running at 4 ohms impedance.

well, how do i know what system i have? I got the Cassette player in the dash and the 6 CD in the glove. 4 door system.

does your car have a built-in sub in the rear package tray, or speakers in the center console where your knees make contact? If not, then you have the plain jane system. The radio would also say Alpine on it as well, I believe.

No i dont have that stuff, sadly lol ..

Then you have the correct speaker for replacement. :D

Believe me, you are not missing anything. I had to unplug my rear package tray sub due to it ruining my hearing. I then placed a 10" passive sub inside the trunk and used the "audiophile" amp's output to drive it, and it was still not very pleasant to listen to. I ended up removing that and just use the normal speakers for bass and it still can rattle all 3 of the mirrors. I was listening to Weezer's "say it ain't so" the other day and had all 3 of them blurry.

The problem I had with the factory sub was that it made my ears ring -- there was no deepness to the bass, just distortion, which I attributed to piss poor quality speakers, and perhaps a poor design of the sub enclosure in that shelf tray. I tried to get 6x9 subs to replace the factory speakers, had very little luck finding anything, and gave up. I now am pretty happy the way it sounds, with pretty much what you have. I did buy some cheap add-on tweeters and mount then in the front window corners on the inside of the mirrors on the door. Best $20 I ever spent, not counting in my teen years. ;)

Maybe I will add a photo of that setup.

ok guys, i got it, its the right speaker, i snapped out that metal piece that covers the speaker, and its the same one.

Thanks for all your help.

but i dont have a problem with the front speakers, they sound perfect, I'm getting subs for the back dock anyway.
